FSS Papain Powder is a proteolytic enzyme isolated from the latex of the green fruit and leaves of Carica papaya.

It functions as a hair and skin conditioning agent and lytic agent. In hair care products, it serves as an antistatic agent that prevents or inhibits the buildup of static electricity. This product appears as a off-white to light yellow colored powder and can be used in personal care and cosmetic product formulations of skin care, hair care, and bath products. Papain is a fruit enzyme that acts as a natural exfoliator. Application of papain cleans and rejuvenates skin by dissolving fats, purging and softening the epidermis. Because of this property, papain enzyme is often included as an ingredient in beauty products and skin cleansers.

*Please note: Papain, also known as papaya proteinase I, is a cysteine protease enzyme present in papaya (Carica papaya) therefore the distinguished odor for this particular product is standard. You may mask the odor with Scents or Essential Oils in your personal care or cosmetic formulations.

Storage: Protected from direct light and humidity at a temperature of 50°-77°F (10°-25°C) 

Shelf life: 12 months, properly stored, in sealed container.
